IF, you're wondering about the "regular/switch" vs "right/left", let me explain. After discussing this with Steele and others, it made more sense to go with "regular/switch". Here's why: Our hobby or this style of flying closely resembles that of any board sport. Switch indicates a weaker side or a more difficult trick due to the rider not being in his natural stance or position. When flying, the pilot experiences the same or similar issues. Pushing the sticks inward or away from your hand is usually more difficult. This would be classified as "Switch". It doesn't feel natural to push the sticks inward.

Now, if you're also wondering why I made this video, here is my answer. I am a performance oriented pilot. Every trick I do has a purpose or a rotation about it that is identifiable. Regularly, my tricks are referred to as a general "flippy floppy". While this is fine 99% of the time, it is NOT fine when trying to define the difficulty or skill required to perform the said "flippy floppy". Why is that important? Glad you asked. Simply put - competition. Every sport, hobby, game, has competition, and is graded in some manner based on definable standards. FPV freestyle on the other hand is largely "style" or "trend" driven. This is not a bad thing, but if you're trying to stage an event, how do you judge if one pilot flies around doing no tricks and the other is laying it all on the line? See where I'm going?

Lastly, and likely most importantly, this should help future FPV pilots new or old. How? Glad you asked again. Much like other action sports, there are definable tricks you can go out and practice. This exists in FPV but usually only at a beginner or intermediate level. All tricks should be explored, defined and attempted. Otherwise we will stale and our hobby will die. Well, likely not, but you get the drift. #ethix #teamrelentless #fpvbible
