After the narcissist discards their victims and moves on with their lives, it seems to the untrained eye that they are much happier and successful. It makes the victim feel horrible and validates their already skewed believe that they themselves weren't good enough for the narcissist. Seeing the narcissist happier or appearing to be living a much better life can really stunt the healing and recovery process. Thing is, that's all smoke and mirrors and even if it were true, why can't YOU be happier and successful and live an even better life now that the toxic, narcissistic monster if out of your life?
