Mauritania To Senegal, Border Trouble, Police Drama & Broken Taxi

In this travel vlog, I continue my journey across West Africa, traveling from Nouakchott (Mauritania) to Dakar (Senegal) by land. I took a shared taxi from Nouakchott to the Rosso border, one of the busiest and most chaotic border crossings in West Africa.

After clearing immigration, I started filming at the Senegal side of the border — but a policeman stopped me and forcefully deleted some of my footage. Then I took another shared taxi from Rosso to Dakar, but the journey was far from smooth — the car broke down 5–6 times, and we got severely delayed.

Due to Senegalese regulations, taxi drivers are not allowed to drive after midnight, and when our driver broke the rule, police stopped us, took his documents, and we were forced to switch vehicles. We were supposed to reach Dakar by 11 PM, but finally arrived at 4 AM!

This was one of the most unexpected and exhausting travel days of my West Africa trip — watch till the end to experience the reality of overland travel in this region.
