Chef Pang runs a Hakka takeaway joint from the back door of his French restaurant, but when he decides to pursue a dream of opening his own Hakka heritage food stall, he goes on a journey to discover the histories and origins of the recipes that he grew up with. But as he meets historians, cultural experts and even hawker vendors, he uncovers a story of stoicism and determination, of a people who were forced from their homes and forever known as the 'guest people'
