Paper thickness is measured in GSM which stands for Gram Per Sq Meter, so a 300 gsm does not mean 300 grams this paper definently can't weight 300 gram, it is the weight of a square paper of 1mx1m dimension.

Advertsting flyers which are printed mainly for getting a call to action, need not have to be retained by your customer for long, so you can consider going for 100 gsm and 130 gsm.

Brochures or flyers which are price list, company catalog, instruction manual, prospectus need to be printed on a thicker paper like 300 gsm. If you have multi pages brochures you can go with thicker cover in 300 gsm with matt or a gloss lamination and 130 or 160 gsm inner pages. Lamination add to the life of brochure and make them scratch free.

Printing has no impact on the paper thickness.
