Most of what they did is still hidden, but one of their experiments was frostbite testing. They’d force people to stick their hands in freezing water until they were literally frozen solid. Then? They’d either dunk the hands in boiling water, hold them over fire, or just leave them frozen to see if they’d rewarm on their own.
