MSA Percussion Ensemble: 'On Thin Air'

This was MSA middle school percussion ensemble's big piece for Spring 2021: 'On Thin Air' by John Willmarth. The piece is intended to sound like floating or flying, with moments of turbulence. The biggest challenge for the students was staying in time together, and keeping track of where they were during ostinato passages. Because this group is large, we doubled and tripled up on parts which really helped some of the newer members' learning process.
