Many people dream of supporting the mission of the United States Secret Service.

The Secret Service personnel ensure the safety of the US president, vice-president, immediate families, former presidents, presidential candidates, and visiting foreign heads of state.

Many people aren't aware of the US Secret Service's second mission.

They safeguard the payment and financial system, which was their original mission. To this day, the Secret Service still investigate counterfeiting of the US currency, bank fraud, mail fraud, cybercrime, and conspiracies.

This was the Secret Service's first mission. The agency was created on July 5th, 1865, in DC to suppress counterfeit currency. This was months after the American Civil War. In the wake of the American Civil War, 1/3 of all US currency was fake.

There are generally three kinds of career opportunities for the Secret Service: Special Agents, Uniformed Division Officers, Administrative, Professional, and Technical Workers

It is extremely challenging to become a Special Agent.
