Bento Lunch Boxes in Tokyo - Eric Meal Time #301

Bentos (弁当) are single-portion take-out or a home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine. A traditional bento box includes rice or noodles, fish or meat, with pickled & cooked vegetables. Containers range from disposable mass-produced to hand-crafted lacquerware. Bentos are readily available at many places throughout Japan, including convenience stores, bento shops (弁当屋 bentō-ya), train stations, & department stores. However, Japanese homemakers often spend time & energy making bentos for their spouse, children, or themselves. You gotta love Japan!
