Chopin Waltz Op.64, No.2 [Piano]
There will be a bunch of videos coming this month ranging from Gerudo Valley to Erik Satie's Gymnopedie No.1.
So, Chopin...its been a long journey and one that I am sure was worth it. Usually in the past, I've uploaded a piece once I was finished with it, to mark / note when I was done learning the piece to a satisfactory standard. Back in February, I actually finished this piece, but as I was working on the last page I started to listen to more and more interpretations of this specific piece (due to the nature of the third page being so melodic), and I wanted to take more time with this. Its not the greatest interpretation, I must admit...but I wanted to spend a good month or so on the interpretation so that my upload would be a great one rather than a satisfactory one. Here's the issue...I started working on the interpretation, had it exactly how I wanted it...but then because of the onslaught of assignments I had to do, I had to take a month+ break, which I am still on right now until the end of the month when I will be done with University. When I returned to this piece late last week, I found out that I could barely remember / play the last page of this piece anymore, but because its already been so long, I decided to upload this video anyway. So if you're wondering why I am reading the last page, that's why. There are some slight mistakes here and there, especially in the last page...but I guess it is what it is. I'll probably continue working on it just so I actually memorize the last page, and then it should be much better. Interpretation wise it is pretty much how I imagined it, although it doesn't sound anywhere near as good as the professional recordings that are available on youtube, but it is what it is; I'm not a professional ;)
Anyway, there will be a bunch of videos this month like I said...although it could be early next month too. Assignment + exam stress is everywhere and since that means that I'll have very little time to play, I won't be able to brush up on the pieces I've finished. Gerudo Valley should be much easier to get back to, since its a relatively easy piece that only took me 2 weeks to learn and could've probably be done in 1 week if I wasn't so busy. The Gymnopedie was relatively easy, at least notes wise...but I really struggled with the voicing; particularly of the F# but I resolved that.
I guess until next time?
Do people even read these long descriptions? If so, let me know by starting your comment with "Bob speaking" ...
.. if I know people read the description, I will relay information in them in the future too :D
