Olivia (Michael Learned), John (Ralph Waite) and Grandpa (Will Geer) shared the feeling that things would never quite be the same on Waltons Mountain. This was a turning point at the end of Season 5 - although the series went on for 4 more seasons. The good news - Richard did return for more specials and the family and cast remain close to each other all these years later.
