Polestar Undercuts Tesla With The New 2 In Long Range Single Motor Spec

Polestar recently added a new trim for the all-electric 2 called simply the "Long Range Single Motor." With 270 miles of range and a single motor driving the front wheels, the name makes a lot of sense. But much more importantly, the new spec allows #Polestar to undercut a base #Tesla Model 3 with comparable range and power at a lower price point, especially with government incentives and rebates factored in.

Depending on where you live, a Long Range Single Motor can cost well under $40,000 and even better, Polestar claims they have cars ready to ship at this very moment (as opposed to the long waits common for Tesla buyers). And the 2's attractive design, inside and out, plus the potential for better build quality, seems likely to propel Polestar's entry-level #EV to solid sales as production continues to ramp up over the next few years.
