Tererai Trent on Dialogue

Education advocate and motivational speaker Tererai Trent, Ph.D. shares her inspirational message. Born in rural Rhodesia and married off as a girl, Trent never gave up on her dream of an education, achieving not only a college degree, but also two master's degrees and a doctorate.

Trent's story, featured in the book, Half the Sky, was seen by producers for the Oprah Winfrey Show. Winfrey, who calls Trent her favorite all--time guest, donated $1.5 million to Trent's foundation to help others in her village get the start she didn't have.

Trent talks with Dialogue host Marcia Franklin about her life, what kept her going during her most difficult times, and her goals for the future.
