Why the Richest 10% Are Heating the Planet: 66% Emissions Exposed!

A growing body of research reveals that the wealthiest 10% of the global population are responsible for a staggering 66% of global carbon emissions. This elite group, through their high-consumption lifestyles—such as frequent air travel, large homes, and luxury goods—contribute disproportionately to climate change. Meanwhile, the poorest half of humanity accounts for just a fraction of emissions yet suffers the worst climate impacts. The report calls for urgent systemic change, including progressive carbon taxes, green investment policies, and wealth redistribution to curb luxury emissions and achieve global climate targets. Without addressing this inequality, efforts to stop global warming may fall short.
