Heroes Redux: Heroes of Stalingrad

This is my entry for War Thunder "Heroes Redux" movie contest.

On the 28th of June 1942 the Wehrmacht began an offensive operation in the southern area of the USSR, it's codename was ‘Case Blue’. The main goal of this operation was to secure the oil fields of Baku. The German forces were divided into two groups of A and B, securing the Caucasian mountains and Volga area respectively. On the 23rd of August the vanguard of group B reached the suburbs of Stalingrad where Soviet troops established the defence of the city. The ruins of Stalingrad were turned into a fortress and the German advance was stopped. The battle turned soon into a blood bath, with both sides suffering heavy losses.

On 19th November 1942 the Red Army, led by General Georgy Zhukov, launched Operation "Uranus" - a massive attack on the northern flank of the German 6th army. After few weeks the Wehrmacht was surrounded in the city. Despite the efforts of the Manstein’s 4th army to break through the encirclement and relieve the 6th army, the ring was getting even thicker.

The Luftwaffe suffered heavy losses when the Soviet troops reached Tatsinskaya airfield on 24th of November. The German planes were taking off in total confusion and under heavy fire from the Soviet artillery, leaving 72 planes burning on the ground.

By 2nd February 1943 the Battle of Stalingrad was over. The German 6th army had surrendered and over 90,000 soldiers had been taken prisoner.
Some curiosities about the production of this video:

-No bots were harmed during the recording, because none of them took part in it.
-There were over 30 people involved in the production.
-All footage has been recorded using Simulator Battles settings.
-All Tankers had manual gearbox settings.
-It took us over 2 hours to eventually hit the airfield with BM-8-24 rocket launchers.
-The airfield is located on Finland. In order to hit it we had to climb over the mountain near the northern spawnpoint.
-The distance between the rocket artillery pieces and airfield was 6.8 km.
