Mini Meditation: Loving Kindness

Loving Kindness Meditation.

Did you know that practicing Loving Kindness meditations can help you improve your wellbeing, help you focus on your life goal, and actually help your body repair itself?
Here we have a short loving kindness meditation to help you get started.

Sit quietly, close your eyes, and take a deep breath. Imagine yourself, and repeat the phrase (out loud or in your head) "May I be happy and free of suffering".
Then imagine someone that you love, and repeat the phrase "May you be happy and free of suffering".
If you'd like to continue, you could imagine someone neutral, maybe a local shopkeeper that you see, or the bus driver that takes you to work every day. Repeat the phrase "May you be happy and free of suffering".
Then, imagine someone you don't like. Repeat the phrase "May you be happy and free of suffering". If you find this difficult, you could imagine them as a child, or practice loving kindness meditations more than once and watch how you progress to offering love and kindness to more people outside of your comfort zone.
