Denmark - Top 20 destinations in Jutland (Jylland)

During my stay in Denmark I decided to make an on-the-road adventure of 5 days with my girlfriend from August 6th to August 10th 2021. We left Copenhagen to discover the Jutland region. We traveled over 1500 km with our car and we visited some of the best places that you cannot miss if you are planning to go in Jutland. I have tried to summarize in this video 20 top destinations that you can find in Jutland, enjoying the beautiful natural landscapes and the joyfull cities.

In the following you will find the places shown in the video (not in order of beauty 😀):

1) 00:20 Råbjerg Mile, the largest moving dune complex in Northern Europe (YES, Denmark has a desert!);
2) 00:45 Blåvandshuk Fyr, a 39 meters lighthouse with 170 stairs. You will find a lot of people over the beach looking for the amber in the sand!
3) 01:18 Viborg;
4) 01:50 Silkeborg from above;
5) 02:08 Trehøje Mols, a Danish vista point with a view of the sea to the east, south and west, located in the Mols Bjerge National Park on the peninsula Djursland between Denmark and Sweden;
6) 02:32 Rubjerg Knude Fyr, it was expected that the lighthouse would fall into the sea by 2023 because of the coastal erosion; however, works to relocate the lighthouse started on August 2019, and on October 2019 the lighthouse was moved inland on specially built rails;
7) 02:49 Møllehøj, the highest natural point in Denmark (170 meters over the sea level);
8) 03:10 Mossø Sø, the Denmark's third largest freshwater lake and Jutland's largest lake;
9) 03:28 Den Tilsandede Kirke, The ancient sand-buried church of Saint Lawrence;
10) 03:43 Han Vejle Skjulet, a beautiful area for bird watching;
11) 03:58 Mennesket ved Havet (Man meets the sea), is a 9 meter tall white monument of four seated males observing the sea, located west of Esbjerg;
12) 04:13 Førby Sø, a beautiful lakes area in Thy National Park;
13) 04:57 Lyngby Strand, a beautiful and hidden beach with a beautiful viewpoint. Here I admired one of the best sunset of my life;
14) 06:01 Grenen (The Branch), was named for its shape like a tree-branch, reaching out from the mainland. Here you can see the Baltic Sea and the North Sea mixing together;
15) 06:34 Århus, the second-largest city in Denmark. Near Århus you can find also a deer park and the "Infinite Bridge";
16) 07:08 Ribe, the oldest extant town in Denmark and in Scandinavia, established in the early VIII century in the Germanic Iron Age;
17) 07:30 Kolding with its castle;
18) 07:53 Esbjerg, the fifth-largest city in Denmark;
19) 08:05 Kalø Slot, it is a ruined castle of the XIV century located in eastern Jutland, within Mols Bjerge National Park;
20) 08:18 Ålborg, the fourth-largest city in Denmark.
