Soham Mandhare hails from a Village (in Maharastra). His father is a dedicated full-time farmer and his mother is a primary school teacher. Like everybody, he dreamt of cracking UPSC in his first attempt post-college. Due to its vast syllabus and unrealistic approach, Soham was without guidance or a mentor and prepared on his own without any planning and resources.

During this year (2018) he suffered from anxiety attacks and stress. The doctor asked him to skip this attempt. In his journey, he had to face financial constraints, a lack of resources, and multiple failures in previous attempts.

Soham persisted, and kept his approach to life and UPSC, simple. He cracked UPSC 2021 with an AIR 267 and got selected for IRS. His optional was Political Science and International Relations and he was one of the highest scorers in the UPSC Optional paper. In 2022 he is attempting again for his dream - IAS.
