Mercruiser 350 shot sparks out carb now has no power

Hadn't run the 1995 Malibu Echelon boat in a year. When I took it out for the first time it started and would run when it was being revved, but wouldn't stay running at idle. I had the key in the ON position and was taking the flame arrestor off when sparks flew everywhere, the carb shot out some flames and now I have no power, the horn doesn't even work. I assume there is a fuse somewhere but cannot find one anywhere people have suggested.
