The REAL Solution to Traffic

The real solution to traffic isn't a technical solution. It's an economic solution.

But what about that $40 toll in Virginia? Well, that road was only for carpools and hybrids before the toll and they could still use the road for free. The carpools and hybrids were on the edge of congestion already, and the $40 toll lasted a brief moment before going down. It's unclear if anybody even paid it. Toll lanes work best when it’s just a toll lane and they encourage people to carpool more than HOV lanes which are largely ineffective.
