Why Don’t the Elites Get That the Economy Sucks? w/ Jen Pan

Jen Pan analyzes recent polling on the economy that shows most Americans think the economy is doing terribly under Biden. How should we understand the disconnect between public sentiment and positive indicators like job growth and rising GDP? Pan argues that we shouldn't just look at "how the economy is doing," but rather "who" benefits when it improves. To understand why so many think the economy is bad, we do not need a theory of disinformation. We just have to see that the capitalist economy is engineered to restrict the benefits of growth to the top, leaving everyone else with crumbs.
