Trump secures peace deal between Rwanda and DRC | ABC NEWS

The US and Qatar have successfully mediated a peace deal between the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda months after the seizure of eastern DRC by Rwandan-backed M23 rebels.

The foreign ministers, Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner from the DRC and Olivier Nduhungirehe of Rwanda, have praised Trump's mediation after signing the deal in Washington.

The agreement allows Rwandan troops to remain in the DRC temporarily and grants the US access to vital minerals in the region.
