Budget Bluetooth headphones – the topic of today’s review – and they are always a gamble. And these $39 Tribit Xfree Tune might be your lucky draw!

Admirations for Tribit – trying to bring good quality, attention to the detail and decent sound engineering at a such affordable price; I have recently reviewed their first Active noise cancelling Headset, which you can buy for around 80 dollars and is quite a steal too!
The Xfree Tune model doesn’t rely on ANC – but it delivers a lot of other good characteristics. And we start with the unboxing, which as usual for Tribit devices – looks good, and feels good.
In the package – a good carrying case – important for keeping them in mint condition for longer time, and also – 3.5mm stereo cable and charging cable. Very good build quality with metallic plate supporting the construction and giving the feeling of a very durable device. Overall the construction feels very solid and good on touch, and the feeling that the materials give you is way better than what the price suggests. The earpiece cushions are very soft, covered by leather feeling texture – and the earpieces have slight flex in order to fit your ears. The charging port is at the bottom of the right one, and the left one has the 3.5mm jack. There are three buttons in total – all located on the right earpiece – the power/function button and the volume adjustment.
The sound quality is the most important feature of headphones – and the best side of the Xfree Tune
You won’t find better sounding headphones for less than 50 and that sound quality can challenge a few times more expensive devices. The dual 40mm drivers offer terrific experience, and there’s no weak point in the audio spectrum – great dynamics, decent bass, mid- and high tones are very clear and more importantly – don’t feel smashed even at very high volume. And did I mention the best part – up to 40 hours of playback time, which in real life scenario converts into two weeks of listening 2-3 hours a day.
The only remarks I can point to – the lack of APTx and no Type C poprt for charging, both of which are insignificant, especially if you consider the price range. I also found a note that these might feel a little uncomfortable for people with large ears – so take that into consideration.
But overall - the feeling when you have a superb device for not so much money is unique – and fully delivered by the tribit’s Xfree Tune. Huge step forward from listening to earbuds, and one of the major contenders for best Bluetooth earphones for less than $40. Still totally worth in 2020!
