NASA Mars 2020 spacecraft with Perseverance Rover launched on Atlas V-541 rocket on Thursday, Jul 30 at 7:50 a.m. EDT (11:50 UTC) from Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida.

Mars 2020 rover, named Perseverance, will explore the Martian surface and seek to answer questions about the potential of ancient life on Mars.

Mars 2020 will land on the Martian surface at Jezero Crater on Feb. 18, 2021.

Perseverance rover is part of NASA's Mars Exploration Program, a long-term effort of robotic exploration of the Red Planet.
