Santa Fe Speedway Memorial October 2013

On October 26, 2013, a good number of fans and racers from the era of Santa Fe Speedway (1953-1995) gathered at 91st Street and Wolf Road in Willows Springs, Illinois to pay tribute to this great racetrack. A boulder was set at this location and speeches were given. It was great to see the stockcar racers and the motorcycle racers come together. The celebration was led by the Mayor of Willow Springs, Alan Nowaczyk. Team Chicago was there and Motorsports Unlimited was there also. These two motorsports television shows have produced over 2500 shows over the last 25 years or so.
