Purloined Pooch

The plaintiff says the defendant is her young son’s half-sister. She claims the defendant stole their dog, and she wants him back or else the defendant should pay her. The defendant says her brother brought the dog over when their dad passed away, but the dog was matted and seemed neglected, so she kept him to nurse him back to health.
