Inspiring Gay Speeches from Celebrities

The first moments, when it starts creeping into your mind that you MIGHT be gay, are awful, even more so if you don't know anyone that is openly gay to comfort and tell you that it DOES get better (eventually). I speak from experience.

I created the video thinking about myself (selfish, I know) and what I would have liked to hear in the early stages of coming out to myself, as much as I don't like to admit it, hearing from a "celebrity" that being gay is OK echoes louder, comparing to hearing the same from a "regular" person.

Here are some of the speeches that inspired me and gave me strength to carry on in this homophobic world, most of them are cut to highlight what I thought was the essential, so I highly suggest you listen to the complete speech. In the order of appearance:
1. Pink's Gay Speech at when she received the "Ally for Equality Award" at the HRC National Dinner

3. Anne Hathaway's Gay Speech in 2008 at the HRC Los Angeles Dinner
4. Lady Gaga's Gay Speech at the National Equality March Rally
5. Ellen DeGeneres at the HRC in 1997 - in the somewhat early days of her coming out
6. Ellen Page's speech when she comes out as gay on Valentines Day 2014
7. Harvey Milk's famous Hope Speech
8. Zach Wahls, the speech that broke the internet for a few days, the son of 2 moms, speaks about family
9. Rachel Maddow, it is not a speech, it was taken from her show, she did a lot of incredible pieces on LGBT topics, I singled out this one because you can read the anger in her eyes as she interviews David Bahati, the "Kill the Gays" Bill Sponsor from Uganda. I recommend that you watch both shows (she has him on 2 occasions)
