Lend vs. Borrow - Extra English Practice: Vocabulary
Lend and borrow are confusing because they mean almost the same thing! Watch Misha and Larissa explain the difference, and be a little silly. (More information below!)

Both lend and borrow talk about using something that belongs to someone else, with a plan to return it.
Lend = give (for a time)
Borrow = take (for a time)
Sometimes borrow and lend are followed by prepositions: 0:41
Misha LENT her pen TO Larissa.
Larissa BORROWED a pen FROM Misha.
**Lend is often followed by an object pronoun. Borrow is not.1:03
I lent him a sweater. (correct)
NOT I borrowed him a sweater. (incorrect)
We often use these words in question form. 1:22
Can I borrow your...?
Could you lend me your...?
