Traveling in China | The day I went to Guilin for the first time and it was a Business trip!

Guilin is known for being one of the world's most beautiful places with its impressive landscapes, clean rivers, idyllic countryside, majestic rice terraces, and ethnic minorities.
The scenery of Guilin is characterized by its green hills, clear water, pretty rocks, and mysterious caves.
The mountain in Guilin continue in the Li River valley for a hundred miles. Rising sharply at odd angles, the limestone peaks look like giant bamboo shoots growing out of the green plain.
Guangxi's second-largest city, Guilin has the hallmarks of most Chinese megapolises, but it feels much more relaxed given its spectacular setting among the unusual and picturesque karst that surround it. It was China's first city to develop tourism after 1949, and for decades, children's textbooks proclaimed that Guilin's landscape is the best under heaven'
The four lakes in the city center are joined together and with the Li and 'Peach Blossom' rivers. On banks of these rivers and lakes are verdant bamboo and trees. The scenery is especially charming at night when the lakes' features are glowing with colorful lights. Guilin means "Sweet Osmanthus Forest", named after its many fragrant sweet osmanthus trees. Each year in October, when the flowers bloom, the city is filled with their sweet scent.
Zhengyang Pedestrian Street next to the central square in the city has some small boutiques selling ethnic crafts and clothes. There are also many restaurants and a bustling ‘Beautiful Food Street’. The street is filled with various kinds of handicrafts, local specialties and snacks. It is a good place to have a leisurely walk and maybe pick up some souvenirs and enjoy the experience of hanging with the locals.
Unlike other fast-developing Chinese cities filled with high buildings, most developments in Guilin are limited to about 20 floors so that they don't dwarf the hills and spoil the view. The city has a relatively relaxed atmosphere and slow pace, where you can see locals enjoying chatting, playing cards, or just walking slowly in parks or along the rivers and lakes.
