As we prepare to trade 4,000+ square feet for 400, I kept asking myself one question: How do WE really prepare for this shift in life?

We can buy the camper. We can organize the cabinets. We can plan the route.

But how do you prepare the people?

A few weeks back, I co-hosted a shewolfco Summer Camp which included a fun field day for the families during the day and a women only campout at night. With cocreatewithcandice ’s help, I fell down a rabbit hole of astrology, numerology, and personality blueprints. Not because I think our future is written in the stars, but because I wanted another lens through which to understand myself & the people I love most, especially the little people who are rapidly evolving & throwing wrenches at me through the process.

What motivates each of us?
What fills our cup?
How do we handle stress?
What does each person need when life feels overwhelming?
How can we best teach our daughters in ways they naturally receive discipline, love and encouragement?
How do we create a family culture where everyone feels known and loved?

I spent hours reading, taking notes, and creating an individual blueprint for each member of our family. It became one of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on in a while.

Some of the descriptions felt surprisingly accurate. Others challenged me to think differently. More than anything, they sparked conversations we may never have had otherwise.

One of the exercises led me to this excerpt from my birthday page in a book: “A turning point occurs at the age of thirty-six, when your progressed Sun moves into Sagittarius, stimulating you to be more adventurous and freedom-loving or to widen your horizons.”

Especially right now as I’m approaching my 36th birthday.
