Where to begin, 2022 has been a horrible year for me, so much has happened in a year that I’m just ready for 2023. I want to truly start a new slate, and become the person I was always meant to be. My three words of 2023 are Detox, Declutter, and Decompress. I want my life to be stress free, and I will officially leave the toxic people that were in my life in 2022, I will remove myself or things that no longer kindle joy. I can’t say that all of this year has been bad, there’s been some good to come from as well. This year has been learning harsh lessons, and I never realized that two years of my life have been wasted in ways that I should have been thriving in. I allowed excuses and shortcuts to distract me, and I’ve learned a great deal about myself. I’ll admit I’ve been in the slumps for quite some time now, it all started when I left WKU, and so much of me never wanted to leave, but because of certain things got in the way, I felt I had no choice but to come back home. I also had jobs that just drained the energy out of me, and even if I’d leave to go to another place, I would eventually feel that same drained feeling. I lost myself for 2 nearly 3 years because I had convinced myself that I was never good enough. I feel like I’m much stronger as person, I know the potential that I am meant to be. And I won’t lie as happy as I am knowing my Gram and my Papaw Kenny are in a better place. Losing them both in the same year and only three months apart, it was crazy. But I know neither one of them would want me sitting around and falling apart. They would want me to stand up and move forward, and I know that’s what needs to be done. I am so ready for when the clock strikes midnight and 2022 is a thing of the past.
