Splitting Firewood the Quick Way ("Norwegian Wood" method)

http://peplers.blogspot.com We split our wood immediately after felling, in 2m (6'6") lengths, which are easy to stack to season in the woods - we then cross-cut them to the customer's desired log length later on. We used to use an axe (or maul) to start the split, and the complete it with a sledgehammer and steel wedges, but when I read Norwegian Wood I came across the idea of just using the axe, as in this video. You have to be accurate of course, but that comes with practice. The end result is that with a few blows of the axe, a piece of wood that will end up producing 12-14 logs is ready to be stacked for seasoning.
