How to Pray to God More Intimately (3 TIPS THAT IMPROVED MY PRAYER LIFE)

In this video, I'll be talking about how to pray to God in order to build up your intimacy with Him.

As a Christian, praying to God is one of the most important aspects of our faith. I believe that there are also some practices in prayer that hold back our relationship with Him. So I believe that these tips will also help you on how to pray to God effectively.

Whether you want to know how to pray to God for help, how to pray to God for forgiveness, or how to pray to God for something you want, or just simply wanting to know him more... These tips can be applied in all of those cases.

Again, the main point is to build intimacy with God. And as we seek His Kingdom and His Righteousness first, everything else will be added.

The 3 tips that I'll be sharing in the video would be...

1. Don't Rant

I believe that ranting or venting out all of your negative emotions is one if the worst things that you can do when praying to God. I understand that God is there to comfort us, that He's there to lift us up... But if you are spending most of your time in prayer releasing all of your negative emotions towards God, I believe that you are approaching prayer in the wrong mindset.

Our time with God should be spend enjoying His presence. Cherishing the moment with Him. And that can be done without spewing out negative words and talking about all the bad things in our life. God is our provider, God is our healer, God is our Lord, and the sole reason why you have the blessings that you hold right now.

And we need to learn to focus on His goodness and His promises in our lives rather than the emptiness of ours.

2. Be Honest

Given the first tip, some may mistake it as we need to be fake with God, or put up some sort of image. No! We need to be vulnerable and honest with God with everything in our lives. But we can do so without pouring the negativity.

Our relationships with God cannot grow if we choose to withhold or hold ourselves back from committing to Him. We need to be honest and vulnerable without magnifying our problems. Because in reality, are problems are tiny when compared to our Great God.

3. Give Thanks

We should be spending most of our time in prayer giving thanks to God. This literally means to just thank Him for everything that He's done in your life. Thank Him for the sun that went up today, for the good night's rest last evening, for every single thing!

When we focus on His goodness in our lives, naturally, the severity of all the problems that we experience will fade. This is because we are choosing to focus on the light and not the darkness. Remember God, count your blessings, and rejoice in Him!
