Dr. Evelina Grayver is a cardiologist at Northwell Health on Long Island. Over the past year, this doctor has experienced COVID-19 on every level - as a physician, patient and, unfortunately, grieving granddaughter.

News 4 NY first spoke with this doctor during the grueling initial days of COVID-19. At the time, Dr. Grayver described those days to be the most harrowing of her entire career.

Last year, she said that just upon entering the hospital floors, "you can smell fear. You smell death."

Fast forward to current day, NBC New York's Linda Gaudino catches up with Dr. Grayver to discuss her unique situation of contracting coronavirus after vaccination, and what's she has learned over the last 365 days.
