Repair "limp home" code 2767 and 2768 on (W211) 2006 Mercedes E350

The Mercedes 7-speed 722.9 "7G-Tronic" transmissions found in the 2006 Mercedes Benz E350 Sport (W211 chassis) and dozens of other Mercedes and Chrysler cars are just as susceptible to conductor plate failures and "limp home" error codes as the older 5-speed 722.6 5G-Tronic found in the 2000 E430 (W210 chassis) and many other Mercedes, Chrysler and other cars, leaving them stuck in "limp mode" unable to change gears. At first this can be cleared by turning the ignition off an on, but advances to become fatal with a Check Engine light and a stuck transmission.

With the 7-speed 722.9 Mercedes has made it devilishly hard to fix outside the dealer by making it very difficult to buy the part, and requiring coding with the dealer computer. This video covers the home repair of a 2006 Mercedes E350 Sport in "limp home" mode due to code P2767 and P2768 by removing the conductor plate and sending it for repair for a few hundred dollars.

If you've got "limp home" trouble in the earlier 210 model like the 2000 E430, that too is easy to fix with the Autel scanner, so see my related video https://youtu.be/lfwrL5pY3kM
