After the death of Boudica’s husband, Romans decided to annex the Iceni tribe’s kingdom, which was previously an independent ally. After stealing valuables and killing people, Romans were facing an uprising led by Boudica, the new Iceni queen.
With 100,000 Celtic warriors behind her, she went on to destroy three towns and kill its inhabitants, along with one Roman legion.
Boudica went after the last remaining Roman legion in Britannia, but the Roman army, superior in tactical and strategical knowledge, defeated Boudica’s army that was larger in numbers.
After the defeat, Boudica took her own life, leaving behind three destroyed cities and around 80,000 casualties.
