Development of plants HD viii19
Plant development is determined relative to the placement of the cotyledons as the germination process occurs. Epigeous plants have cotyledons that are raised out of the soil, such as bean or cucumber. Hypogeous plants have cotyledons that remain in the soil, such as corn or peas.
