The Story of 2018: The Year of the Underdog

2018 has been the year of the underdog in esports.

Across every game, every scene, the underdogs triumphed this past year.

From Cloud9 in CS:GO, to OG in Dota 2, to Invictus Gaming in League of Legends.The underdog came out on top time and time again in 2018.

And it’s not just in the biggest games either. Nearly every esports scene saw an underdog win out, whether it be over a veteran opponent, an entire region, or even the major esports themselves.
