Back in May 2020, I got a viral infection which caused permanent damage to the vestibular nerve within my inner ears, which is known as vestibular neuritis. This vestibular disorder overtook my life for several months, as the symptoms were debilitating, and I still continue to struggle with vestibular symptoms. Common vestibular neuritis symptoms include nausea, dizziness, spinning, vertigo, derealization, visual hallucinations, hearing changes, vestibular migraines, body shocks, and many more. The vestibular symptoms will vary from case to case, but are very debilitating for many individuals. Vestibular neuritis can also evolve into persistent postural perceptual dizziness (PPPD) or vestibular migraines over time, but it's important to understand that the treatment is the same:

How to Recover from Vestibular Neuritis (Vestibular Neuritis Treatment):

Vestibular neuritis recovery can be achieved through vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) exercises along with normal daily activities. The KEY to recovering from a vestibular disorder is to keep as active as possible and do as much VRT as possible. A near 100% recovery from vestibular neuritis is completely possible through habitual activity, VRT exercises, and a positive mindset. It's important to stay as positive as possible and KNOW you will get better! For anyone struggling with a vestibular disorder, understand that there are better days ahead, but big changes will only happen over the long term.
