Scared of lead in protein powder?

Protein powders are everywhere but a new Consumer Reports investigation found that 70% contain measurable levels of lead, and some exceeded health-based safety limits.

As a nutritionist, here’s what @thedeliciousnutiritionist wants you to know:

✅ You can hit your protein goals through food.
⚠️ Plant-based powders (especially rice/pea) showed the highest contamination levels.
🔍 Look for brands that are third-party certified or share heavy metal test results.

Use powders as a top-up, not a staple.
Real food still wins: lentils, tofu, eggs, fish, yogurt, beans.
