NIGERIANS,
2023 is fast approaching,
politics has started in earnest and another round of general election will soon commence.
As a citizen, what are your plans? Will you participate? If yes,
will you vote based on competence and great courage?

Nigeria,
our great nation has seen lots since independence.
We have marched the depth of human compassion and have climbed the heights of glory.
Yet, we have seen the wrought of men and the bitterness therein. Good leaders come and go.
Each leaving measureable trace of achievements.
Yet our contempt grows.

Over the years we have made remarkable progress in nation building,
we have placed great men and women at the top of
world affairs and have reconciled nations at war.
We have beating world’s best in sports and have stood tall in the face of adversity.
No doubt, we are a force to reckon with.

And now more than ever,
our nation is ravaged with troubling challenges.
Is it the ethnic and communal clashes in some regions,
or the yearning for secession in another? Is it the sky
rocketing inflation that erodes citizen purchasing power across the country?
Or the new found national sports in which people are snatched from their sleeps for ransom?
There has never been a more favorable time for the
emergence of a true leader from the best of us.

So, how do we heal our nation?
How do we win and keep winning?
Is there a wise one among us who understands all these yet capable of
winning election and healing our wounds? Is there any wise one courageous enough
to harness the best of our intelligence without prejudice
to our ancestral origin and ways of worship?

Who could this wise one be?
How do we know him or her when its time? Well,
one thing is certain. We cannot settle for less.

This is the earnest desire of a Patriot.
