Oppo has added two more members to its Oppo Reno Series in India. The Reno Series which is known for camera capabilities now includes Oppo Reno 11 5G and Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G smartphones. Interestingly this time Oppo has launched a new series of Reno Devices within six months of its predecessor. The Oppo Reno 11 Pro has been powered by Dimensity 8200 chipset while the Reno 10 Pro came out with Snapdragon 778G SoC in July 2023. Although the chipset is different, otherwise specs like battery and camera are similar for both Reno 10 Pro and Reno 11 Pro. The Oppo Reno 11 Pro sports a 1.5K resolution AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It packs a 4600mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging. Camera specs have not changed but the new ColorOS 14 has added more features to the device. Let us have a look review of the Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G .The Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G will be available in a 12GB RAM+256GB storage model for Rs. 39,999. It comes in Pearl White and Silvery Grey shades. The smartphone will retail via Flipkart with the first sale taking place on January 18.There are differences in the looks of both devices but there are some common elements as well. The rear panel has a silvery ring around the camera module and the module is slightly bigger than the one on the predecessor. Also, this time Oppo has kept the LED flash outside the camera module. Out of the three sensors, two are circular while one is capsule-shaped. There is Oppo branding at the bottom. We received the Pearl White variant of Reno 11 Pro which features a marble texture design at the back. The back panel has a matte finish but shines when tilted under sunlight. The white color variant looks beautiful to look at but the texture makes it slip from hands. This can be avoided by using the protective cover bundled inside the box. With the battery size still being 4600mAh, the device has become lighter (181 grams) and sleeker (7.66mm) than before. It has a metallic frame that looks like steel situated between a curved rear panel and a curved display. The right edge houses volume rockers, and a power button while the top edge has an IR blaster and microphone. The bottom edge has a dual SIM tray, microphone, Type-C port, and speaker grille. If we look at the front of the Realme 11 Pro 5G, it has a 6.7-inch screen and a 32MP selfie snapper inside a punch hole cutout at the top. The display has thin bezels all around. All in all, Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G comes with an attractive design, white color model being suitable for all age groups. The only design flaw is the protruded camera lenses which make the device wobble on a flat surface. This can be solved by using the cover. Also, there is no IP rating for protection against dust or water.
Oppo Reno 11 Pro has the same 6.67-inch 120Hz display as its predecessor. It also comes with Full HD+ resolution (2412×1080 pixels). The display is an AMOLED panel with curved edges that makes it look impressive. The refresh rate options include Auto select, standard (60Hz), and High (120Hz), out of which the smoothest performance is with 120Hz. Some apps need a 90Hz refresh rate as well. Using the device at a 120Hz refresh rate will drain the battery faster. We mostly kept it at Auto Select mode.
Talking about brightness, Reno 11 Pro comes with 950 nits maximum brightness which allows you to work outdoors under sunlight, but this experience is not very comfortable as legibility is less. Since it is winter season in India and there has hardly been any sunshine in the past few days (in North India), in such a scenario, the brightness was adequate. The screen is slightly reflective as well.
The Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G comes with HDR10 support using which one can watch content on platforms like Netflix, and YouTube. There are three color modes, out of which we liked the Natural mode best. If you like bright colors, opt for Brilliant or Cinematic options in the Pro section. In comparison to Reno 10 Pro, colors seem boosted in Reno 11 Pro. Overall, visuals are decent and with HDR support this AMOLED display apps a good content consumption experience as the dynamic range and viewing angles are also good. While Oppo Reno 10 256GB UFS 3.1 storage which boosts the performance of the device. Although 12GB RAM is more than enough, there is an additional 4GB virtual RAM capability as well.

We used the device for almost two weeks and it was smooth during everyday tasks. Tasks like Calling, Messaging, Watching Reels on Instagram, Video streaming, Gaming, etc. were easy to perform. Games like BGMI and Genshin Impact could be played with high graphics and high frame rates and the performance was buttery smooth. The device does get slightly warm after a long gaming session, but that is pretty normal.
