STS2 was built in Unity. Then everything changed

In the middle of developing Slay the Spire 2, MegaCrit switched from Unity to Godot. As revealed by lead programmer Jake Card in a Reddit AMA, the key was a decision they made before the switch, converting all game content to plain C# classes. So when they moved to Godot, most of the code just worked. And because Godot is open source, every time something broke they could dig into the engine itself. Over time the fixes accumulated until they had their own fork of Godot. They call it MegaDot.
