When anyone asks me what my favorite go-to red wine is, my answer is 9/10 going to be either a Cru Beaujolais or Dolcetto d'Alba. I love their easy and friendly nature, but underneath they are so much more. Keep these up your sleeve next time you find yourself in need of a great value wine on a pricey wine list, or when your budget for dinner party wine is under $40. These are both knockouts that will be sure to score you points with even the most discerning of wine lovers.

While Cru Beaujolais and Dolcetto d'Alba can be found at most wine shops around the country, these particular producers aren't always the easiest to find and won't always be available online. That said, they aren't impossible and with a little research you'll be able to find them in no time. Most will typically surface in the spring and you can always count on Kermit Lynch to have the best of the bunch. Get on their mailing list to become the first notified and make friends with your local wine shop so you'll be the first client they call when they arrive. Good values don't last long, so these are definitely worth stocking up on. I typically try to buy 6-12 bottles of a few and keep them on hand for last minute parties, weekday drinking, or gift giving.
