Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey says 'shadow ban' was not impartial

In a House hearing Wedneday, Twitter's CEO Jack Dorsey was asked by members of Congress whether the company's automatically-generated search results were unfairly limiting visibility of Republicans or Democrats to the benefit of the opposing political party.

Dorsey declined to confirm which party was affected more. A recent Vice report said that the accounts to several prominent conservative leaders did not auto-populate as suggestions in users' search box. Dorsey also said Democrats were affected the auto-suggestions, but refused to provide a break down of how many accounts belonging to each party were impacted.

Dorsey did tell Republican Rep. Joe Barton of Texas that the impact "was not impartial."

The CEO plans on following up with the committee.
