Monkeys enjoy Hot Springs! ♨️🙈 Snow Monkey Park

Visited Snow Monkey Park (Jigokudani Yaen Koen 地獄谷野猿公苑）in Nagano. There are so adorable baby monkeys in this park.

Since its opening in 1964, the Jigokudani Yaen-koen has been widely loved by people around the world as a place where they can observe the interesting ecology of Japanese monkeys up close and personal, as well as monkeys bathing in hot springs. Many researchers and photographers have also visited the park, and many results have been achieved.

The people of prehistoric times called this place "Hell Valley" (Jigokudani 地獄谷） when they saw the steep cliffs and the steam from the hot springs rising from everywhere.
However, this place is a paradise for monkeys. Since ancient times, groups of Japanese macaques have lived here in their natural habitat.

The facility is not enclosed and monkeys come and go freely from the mountains. So you can observe the monkey habitat in natural way.
