Homage to Martyrs of Japan

Song of the Kamikaze pilots - Tokkotai Bushi

*P.S. In no way I made this video to offend Japanese memory. I chose this song because, even though it talks about the kamikaze pilots and not about Christians, the feeling of the lyrics is very similar with what those martyrs might have felt, since they too were in an almost "suicidal" situation during the period of persecutions, and still many, both foreign missionaries and native Japanese Christians, risked their lives to great lengths, and many lost them. This is why I chose this song (also because it is very beautiful in my opinion, both melodically and textually). Please, sorry if any Japanese (or non-Japanese) felt like this was inadequate, my intention was not to provoke nor mock.

Loading fuel for one more trip
With tears, we fly to Ryukyu
Our last journey

As the plane lifts
In an act of farewell
I remember my mother's face

Now rain, please rain
We cannot blame the weather
It is painful for us

Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat eis. Requiescant in pace. Amen.
