ROCKHOUNDING ROAD TRIP!: DAY 2, Smokey Quartz and Ghost Towns

In this one, we continue our awesome road trip around western Montana! We start out by heading back to the Plume jasper site for a few minutes. We then head out to a site to look for smokey quartz, feldspar, and pegmatites! We find some interesting stuff and then pack up to reach Gem Mountain in Phillipsburg, Montana to do some sapphire panning! We did not get to gem mountain in time to pan there, but we did buy some gravel to go through, so look forward to a gem panning video coming soon! All was not lost though, as the people at Gem Mountain drew us up a map to explore the local ghost towns and mine sites! We spend some time exploring Granite ghost town specifically and find a small handful of very cool material from the tailings!
