Camping 3 Days - Hoosier National Forest - Charles Deam Wilderness Area
In this video I am camping for 3 days/2 nights with my buddy Joe at the Hoosier National Forest located in Southern Indiana. We are hiking the Grubb Ridge Trail in the Charles Deam Wilderness Area of the forest.
DAY 1: We got a late start on the trail due to a business meting earlier in the day so we debate hiking 5 miles to our originally planned camp site, or stopping half way to a different camp site. Setup and getting firewood is crucial because it is going to reach freezing temperatures at night and we don't have much daylight left.
DAY 2: We make some revisions to our camp and shelters, set out to find some more water because we are running low, I get in a serious battle with a piece of nature, Joe chops down a large tree with a small hatchet, and we cook on the open camp fire.
DAY 3: We have breakfast and coffee on the camp fire, enjoy camp for one final morning, tear camp down, and head out.
There was not much wildlife at this time of year in the Charles Deam Wilderness Area of the Hoosier National Forest in Indiana. We did not see any deer, bear, or birds (besides an eagle and a few crows). I am certain we heard a bunch of wolves howling at night tho. So if you are going on a trip to see wildlife, the Grubb Ridge Trail, Charles Deam Wilderness, Hoosier National Forest is not the spot for you (according to my experience).
I hope you enjoy this video and learn something to improve your bushcraft and backwoods/primitive camping skills. I will put a link to the gear video at the top of this description once it is completed. Please give me a thumbs up, share this with your community, and subscribe for more videos. Thanks!
*This video is about a 3 day/2 night dispersed/primitive camping trip in the Hoosier National Forest, Charles Deam Wilderness Area. Specifically the Grubb Ridge Trail.
