Homemade Nipping Press // Adventures in Bookbinding

In this video I'll make a homemade nipping press. The earliest reference I have seen for this design is from the cover of a pamphlet called "Bookbinding as a School Subject" by Douglas Cockerell.

The clamp I use is a Irwin Pro 300mm Medium Duty F Clamp model number 10503569 and it cost $35AU at Bunnings

The rubber door stops I used are actually 43mm high (even though they are labelled differently) and cost $2.32 each at Bunnings and I bought 4 of them

I made the base from dressed pine 19mm thick and the piece I used was 280mm front to back, and 330mm wide

The tools and materials I use can be purchased from specialist suppliers and manufacturers in my suppliers list. If you are in Australia I have a limited range of items I supply by mail or by pickup from the bindery in Brisbane.
